Leopard has made another kill in Gogunda area, about 45 km from Udaipur. A 5-year-old girl was taken away by a leopard from the village. The girl's severed palm was found in the forest. Her body was lying some distance away. Before the villagers could do anything, a leopard came from the bushes and took away the body. Till 2 o'clock in the night, the villagers kept searching the forest for the body, but did not succeed. In the last 20 days, the leopard has killed 4 people from this area.
The series of continuous attacks by leopards on villagers in Udaipur is not stopping. Now a leopard attacked and killed a person who had gone to collect leaves for goats in Sarana Fala of Jhadol. The body of the deceased was found lying in the forest soaked in blood. The deceased has been identified as Shankar (50) son of Limba Kharari. On receiving the information, Jhadol police station officer Ramniwas reached with the force and the forest department team including Ranger Horilal Saini is on the spot. On learning about the incident, a large number of villagers gathered. The police brought the body of the deceased down from the hill, but the villagers stopped the body from being taken to the mortuary. The villagers started protesting. They insisted on catching the leopard and demanding compensation. Seeing the situation getting heated, Deputy Mahavir Singh Shekhawat and SDM Hasmukh Kumar reached the spot. The police administration is continuing to convince the villagers.
A leopard killed a woman in Gogunda, Udaipur. The body was found on a hill 300 meters away from the house. So far, 6 people have died due to leopard attack. The forest department team has caught 3 leopards. According to the information, Gatu Bai (55), wife of Moti Lal Gurjar, a resident of Gurjar ka Guda, went to get fodder for the cattle on Saturday. When she did not return till late evening, her husband got worried. Husband Moti Lal Gurjar and the villagers went to the forest in search of her. The woman's body was found on the hill. On receiving the information, the police and forest department team reached the spot. Leopard has now killed the priest of the temple in Udaipur. The leopard ate one hand, neck and part of the chest of the priest. The body of the priest was found in the forest 150 meters away from the temple. So far 7 people have died in leopard attacks in Udaipur. There is a Hanuman temple in Rathod ka Guda village of Badgaon's Madar Panchayat. Priest Vishnu Giri (65) used to worship in the temple. On Monday morning, when people came to fill water from the tank near the temple, they saw blood scattered. Blood marks were also seen at some places on the way. When the priest was not seen, people suspected something untoward. People started looking for the priest. When people went towards the forest while searching, the body of the priest was found 150 meters away from the temple. One hand of the priest was missing and part of the neck and chest was also eaten. On receiving the information, the police and forest department team reached the spot. DFO Ajay Chittor reached the spot with the team. Also, the forest department team set up a cage to catch the leopard. A leopard killed a woman in Kelvo ka Kheda village of Gogunda police station area of Udaipur on Tuesday morning. The woman was tying her vine in the courtyard of the house when the leopard attacked her. The woman, Kamla Kunwar (55), wife of Umsingh Sisodia, died in the attack. The leopard pressed the woman's neck in its jaws and started dragging her towards the field. Hearing the commotion in the courtyard, the deceased's sister-in-law, mother-in-law and children ran out of the house. Hearing their screams, the leopard left the woman there and ran towards the forest. The woman died on the spot due to a deep wound in her neck. Hearing the information of the incident, a crowd of villagers gathered nearby. On receiving the information, the Forest Department and Gogunda police station reached the spot and are engaged in investigation.
Another woman became a victim of a leopard in Gogunda police station area of Udaipur. The woman died on the spot in this attack on Tuesday morning. The leopard, which was running away with the woman's neck pressed in its jaws, was chased away by the villagers by making noise. Earlier on Monday, a priest was also killed by a leopard in the same police station area. After this attack, Chief Forest Conservator Pawan Kumar Upadhyay, who visited Gogunda, said that orders have been issued to shoot the man-eating leopard on sight.
